District Information

Letterhead

Dear Newman Parent:

Newman International Academy is sharing this information about the district and your child’s campus with you as part of its obligations under the federal Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015 (ESSA) as well as Texas Education Agency (TEA) requirements.

Federal Report Cards for the state, the district, and each of the district’s campuses are now available on NIA’s district’s website under the “About Us” tab, or https://www.newmanacademy.org/about_us/district_information or are also available on the Texas Education Agency’s website at  https://rptsvr1.tea.texas.gov/cgi/sas/broker?_service=marykay&_program=perfrept.perfmast.sas&_debug=0&ccyy=2022&lev=D&id=220817&prgopt=reports/tapr/performance.sas

Due to pending litigation, TEA has not issued A-F grades for the 2022-23 or 2023-24 Academic Years.  The state school report card (SRC) combines accountability ratings, data from the Texas Academic Performance Reports (TAPR), and financial information to give a broad view of campus performance. Available for each campus in Texas, the SRC is intended specifically to inform parents and guardians about a school’s individual characteristics and its academic performance.

Texas Academic Performance Reports (TAPR) for the state, NIA district, and each NIA campus are included in the posted Annual Reports.  TAPR reports are also available on the Texas Academic Performance Reports website: https://tea.texas.gov/texas-schools/accountability/academic-accountability/performance-reporting/texas-academic-performance-reports.

Each of these reports provides a slightly different perspective regarding various aspects of our school, such as academic progress by type of student, student proficiency level by subject level, graduation rate, English language proficiency, teacher qualifications, STAAR performance, etc.

If you would like a paper copy of a Federal Report Card (about 10 pages), TAPR (about 30 pages), or School Report Card (4 pages), please contact your campus office. If you need interpretation or have questions about the information in these reports, please contact your campus principal.

NIA is accredited by TEA: https://tea.texas.gov/texas-schools/accountability/accreditation/accreditation-status,  Beyond the TEA accreditation, NIA independently pursued and earned accreditation from Cognia, a world-renowned accreditation organization.

Thank you for your continued partnership in the success of Newman International Academy!

Sincerely,

Newman International Academy Administration
